APHA Awards
The American Paint Horse Association honors its Champion Running Paint Horses in
both registries. Official Paint Racing awards are presented to the World
Champion Running Paint Horse and Champion Running Paint 2-Year-Old, 3-Year-Old
and Aged Horse.
Racing Honor Roll awards are issued each year to the horse of each sex
earning the most points in racing during one calendar year. The horse which
earns the most points will be called one of the following:

- APHA Honor Roll Racing Gelding
- APHA Honor Roll Racing Stallion
- APHA Honor Roll Solid Paint-bred Racing Mare
- APHA Honor Roll Solid Paint-bred Racing Gelding
- APHA Honor Roll Solid Paint-bred Racing Stallion
The horse will receive an award which will be mailed to the owner of
record as of December 31. Each of the remaining horses, 2nd through 10th, will
receive appropriate certificates, which will be mailed to the owners of record
as of December 31. To qualify for Honor Roll awards, the horse must have earned
a minimum of 8 racing points.
A racing Register of Merit can be achieved by obtaining a speed index of
